Thank you to buy buy BABY for partnering with me on this post about traveling with baby! Of course, all opinions are my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that I love!
First off, let me just say that Lincoln has suddenly become very camera-shy. He used to smile at the camera, and now he just stares. He is super nosey (like me), and just loves to take it all in. Anyways, since the holidays are upon us, I am sure most of you are traveling. We always visit my family in Cary, which is about two and a half hours away from Charlotte. Up until recently, Lincoln used to just scream in the car. Like, the whole time we were in the car. We had an infant car seat, which made life so much easier with our stroller. But, Lincoln just hated his car seat. Now that he is older and I finally put our rear-facing mirror up, he generally does well in his new, much larger, carseat.
We ended up getting the Britax Boulevard ClickTight car seat. A few reasons we selected this particular car seat: super safe, easy to install, and Lincoln can use it until he is ready to transition to a booster seat. You can install it both rear and forward facing, and it is incredibly easy to install. I did it all by myself! We have lots of toys on-hand in our car when we travel. However, we always find it easiest to travel during Lincoln’s nap times. Usually, we leave about 30 minutes before his nap to give him time to wind down. He always falls asleep so comfortably in this carseat and he will wake up about 30 minutes away from home.
The next item on my must-have travel list is an umbrella stroller. I love our UPPAbaby Vista stroller, but now that Lincoln is getting bigger, we needed a lighter stroller for quick trips. So, I decided to get the G-Luxe stroller by UPPAbaby. It has all of the bells and whistles, but is so lightweight. I can easily take it out of our trunk and unfold it while holding Lincoln. Added bonus: it stands up on its own. So, when you are out and about, you can easily fold it up and keep it out of the way. I also love the soft gray color (spit up blends in!).
Traveling with a baby can be very stressful, but the fewer items you have to think about, the easier it is. We keep our car seat and stroller in our car at all times. The stroller doesn’t take up a lot of room, either. These two items make traveling with baby so much easier!
