Since Lincoln was born, we’ve had many visitors come to stay with us! Mainly, my family stays with us when they come to visit because they live a few hours away. Fortunately, my husband’s family only lives five minutes away from us! But, because we have guests more frequently these days, I want to spruce up our guest room! Of course, it was one of the last rooms on my decorating list. However, it is now top priority! I always want my family and guests to feel welcome and comfortable, and that absolutely includes the room they are staying in. Nothing is worse than staying at someone’s house and not having all of the comforts of your own home. So I decided to share with you all some cute and trendy guest room ideas.
To create a serene guest room, I am focusing on calm, neutral colors. Grays, blues, and creams are my relaxing inspiration. These colors come from this Horse Art Print that used to be in our living room at our condo! As I’ve mentioned before, decorating a home is expensive. And reusing items you already own in a new way is the best way to save money. For example, I am also reusing this rug and these mirrors! Boom, just saved like $300.
My decorating style is definitely “less is more” and I think this room is just that. But, I am loving the little simple and modern vibe. Having the essentials in the guest room are my main goal. For me, essentials include a bed side table and lamps on each side of the bed, a little storage space with the ottoman, and mirrors. I want my guests to be able to have access to a light, have a storage area for their things, and be able to get ready comfortably. My husband and I always fight over who gets the bed side table when we travel and there is only one! I’ll be working on this room over the next few weeks and will keep you updated on my progress. And, stay tuned for a reveal later on!
What are some of your guest room ideas? I’d love to hear!
