Forget Polished Picks! I am trying something new this Friday because I feel like Polished Picks are getting a bit repetitive. Don’t worry, it will be back soon.
I have a confession to make that will not surprise any of you who read my blog regularly. I have a handbag addiction. Handbags are my weakness – I just love them! My mom is the same way; we are both obsessed and I think it runs in the family. But what many of you don’t know is that I rarely ever purchase them new. Y’all, I’m not a millionaire – I work a regular 9-5 job and I just happen to love fashion. But when I want something, I will save my money and search for the best deal, and that often includes using consignment sites. I usually never purchase anything – shoes, clothing, accessories – without a coupon or some sort of cashback offer.
I have highlighted some of my favorites below, and if you know of any others, please let me know! I am always searching for the best deals!
Fashionphile.com has a great selection of designer handbags and accessories. Designers include Celine, Prada, Louis Vuitton, YSL, and Chloe. What I like most about Fashionphile.com is that the condition of each item is described thoroughly and the pictures document any flaws.
HGbagsOnline.com is a tiny consignment store that sells handbags and leather jackets. I have gotten many bags and a Balenciaga leather jacket from this site simply because it often offers coupons and discounts.
We all know about eBay.com. While I must admit you have to be careful when purchasing on the site, you can often find great used items. One of the best tips I can offer is to make sure your seller has 100% positive feedback and has sold many items in the past. This ensures that you can trust the item you are receiving.
Another awesome tip I can offer to fund your designer purchase(s) is to consign your own items – clothes, shoes, accessories. I take my clothes to a local consignment shop here in Charlotte, JT Posh. I also sell my handbags when I realize I don’t use them enough or I when I want something else similar. It is always ok to reassess and cleanse your wardrobe to make sure it is modern and fits your current needs. I am currently selling my 2010 Balenciaga Light Olive City and my Mulberry Bayswater in Flame so that I can purchase a new bag! Or I might just save the money since we are trying to save money to buy a house….Purse….House…..?? I think the purse might win!! But don’t tell my husband 🙂
I hope these tips and tricks help you to realize your options when it comes to owning designer brands!
