After Lincoln was born, my body was definitely different than before I got pregnant! Of course I gained weight all over, and I am slowly shedding the extra pounds. Now that I am allowed to work out, I actually need to do it, but totally haven’t. But, none of my old clothing fits me very well, and I need items to wear now AND later. It has been fun to add new and updated pieces to my wardrobe. So, my go-to items are usually flowy pieces that are classic. Also, I am sticking to a budget.
When I found this white cold shoulder blouse, it fit the bill. It is the perfect addition to any closet. Not only is it a classic staple, but it is also only $32! I love the pretty ruffles and the cut out shoulders. Styling tip: the fabric is thick and you can’t see through it, and it runs true to size.
And I do have a confession: the jeans I’m wearing in these pictures are my maternity jeans. No, your body does not shrink down after you get that baby out of your belly. Two weeks ago, I ordered a pair of jeans online (two sizes up from my pre-baby size) and they STILL didn’t fit. Like not even over my thighs. But it’s ok. Learning to adjust my expectations when it comes to my post-baby body is something I am working on. My goal is to shed the baby weight in a healthy way, and that includes working out and eating right. For example, I am struggling to stop my evening ice cream binges that began during my 34th week of pregnancy. I can’t help it! But more on this journey to come! I hope you all will follow along!
