NYC is a wonderful, chaotic, and exciting city to visit, especially during fashion week. This was my second trip to NYFW, and I feel so lucky to have been able to attend. However, I have to admit that I’m not sure it’s for me. Traveling is anxiety-provoking for me, combined with a huge, bustling city, a tiny hotel room, and a jam-packed schedule – I was an anxious mess! I’m sure this sounds exciting to some, and I really wish it was to me.
It’s also safe to say I’m not a top-tier blogger, and that’s ok. I’m not invited to the huge shows, my trip to NYC wasn’t sponsored or paid for, and photographers are not tripping to get a snap of me – I’m ok with that. NYFW was a huge investment for me, and I’m not sure from a business standpoint that it was worth it. From a personal standpoint, I was discouraged because comparison will do that to anyone. However, I am also motivated to get my blogging game in gear, so that’s the part I’m focusing on now.
I started blogging because I wanted to share my style with anyone who cared. I love to tell people where I got this dress or these shoes on sale or with a secret coupon because that is FUN to me. Inspiring women to put together an outfit that feels special to them is why I started blogging. Anything else from blogging is just icing on the cake, and I need to get my head together and remember that. Comparing my blog/social following/wardrobe/etc. to other people is a horrible habit I need to break.
