Do you ever look at all those fancy wrapping papers, ribbons, bows, glitter, whatever and wish that you could make your presents look magazine-ready? I do, too. But I usually can’t make it happen. So I’ve made up my own wrapping DIY that fits my style and is super easy to do.
I started with brown postal paper because I liked the rustic look of it (plus, it’s very durable and will withstand the claws of my kitty cats who love to paw at anything). Next I selected some red and white butchers twine with simple, festive colors. I wanted to add a floral element to my wrapping, but didn’t want to use real plants since 1) they would die before I was able to give the gift and 2) my cats would eat them. So, I found some fake ones! But if you’re a flower purist, go for some real ones!
Once you have all of your supplies, just wrap however you want! I kept is simple. My DIY philosophy is less is more. When I end up doing “more,” it usually looks like a 1st grade art project. Wrap the twine around your box, add some tape and holly leaves and you’ve got a simple and rustic package!
