Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. It always feels like the beginning of my favorite season – winter! I love gathering with my friends and family to celebrate everything we are thankful for. For our Friends-Giving, we decided to bring our own place setting! Why? Well, a few reasons – 1) We can let our own personalities shine! 2) It makes entertaining for our hostess that much easier. She already has to cook, so it saves a few steps in prepping. 3) Did you see our table?! How fun and gorgeous did it look?
When it comes to Thanksgiving decor, I really dislike cheesy, over the top turkey-themed stuff. I want something cozy, yet chic. I knew I wanted my place setting to feel elegant, but also rustic. That is where my wooden charger comes in to play. When I saw it in the store, I immediately grabbed it and knew it was perfect. The Kate Spade dotted dish is actually the dinner plate from my wedding china – I love the idea of actually being able to use my wedding china more often! Wanting to add a personal element, I took a monogrammed ornament I found at West Elm and made it my place card substitute. It was inexpensive and would be the perfect touch to any table. (PS – more on my outfit tomorrow!)
Since moving to Charlotte almost three years ago (!!), I have been lucky enough to meet some wonderful friends through blogging. Not only can we talk all things blogging, but we relate to each other outside of the blogging world. I am so thankful that I’ve met these ladies and many more because they have made being away from my family just a little easier. Check them out at the links below:
