You know those items that you always seem to need? Toilet paper, paper towels, bedding, etc? It’s OK to stockpile certain things. Buy them in bulk! It’s not like they will “go bad” or not be useful at some point. Here are my top four items to always have on hand!
1. Toilet Paper – I’m not going crazy, I swear. Every one needs and uses toilet paper. I get my TP sent to me every 2 months thanks to Amazon’s Subscribe and Save. It is literally my favorite thing ever. I don’t have to carry bulky TP packages around the grocery store and up 3 flights of stairs to my apartment. The UPS guy does it for me! (Note: I also have paper towels and toothpaste on my subscribe and save list!).
2. Emergency Supplies – Recently, our power went out thanks to some nasty weather here in NC. My husband was out of town (of course!) and I was all alone in the dark. It sucked. I didn’t even have a flashlight. I had some candles lit (note: sandy beaches and Christmas tree scents don’t mix well). Having first aid and emergency supplies on hand is so important, but it’s not something I think about often. You’ll be glad you did when the time comes.
3. Bed Sheets and Blankets – If you have extras on hand, you’ll always be ready when that unexpected guest stops by and wants to crash on your couch or in your extra bedroom. Nothing is worse than going to someone’s house and freezing the night away because you are only provided one flimsy blanket. Don’t be that person who only gives one sad blanket.
4. Cards – Gotta go to a birthday/anniversary/engagement/whatever party? Having a stockpile of generic cards will make your day just a little easier when preparing. I hate running to the store to buy just one card and settling for one that isn’t even cute because I’ve run out of time.
