I’ve officially given up soda! After reading about how bad it is for you (seriously scary stuff), I decided once and for all to kick my Diet Mountain Dew habit. The only reason I drank soda was for caffeine. Since I can’t drink coffee because of my acid reflux, I have fewer options than most. I’m currently 3 months soda-free and feel much healthier and I’ve even lost a little weight. I decided to share my favorite recipe for that afternoon kick: Green Tea Lemonade.
This recipe is inspired by my obsession with the Starbucks Shaken Green Tea Lemonade and it’s so easy to make at home.
1 Green Tea tea bag (I love Tazo)
1/2 cup of Lemonade (I make mine with the crystal light packets…don’t judge)
Sweetener to taste
-Steep green tea in 1 cup of very hot-to-boiling water for 3-4 minutes (longer if you want it stronger). I also add one packet of Truvia.
-Let it cool. If you want it to cool faster, just shake it with ice.
-Prep lemonade packet in water per directions. I usually made a 2-quart pitcher.
-Pour cooled green tea in cup and top off with lemonade.
