Being organized is not always the same thing as being productive, but the two can go hand in hand if you know how to do it right. I use my organization skills to help me be more productive every day – whether it’s at work, at home, or while blogging, these skills are essential to my every day life.
1. Make a List || Nothing is more rewarding to me than being able to cross an item off my list. Sometimes I’ll even add a line just to cross it off because it feels so good. Maybe I’m crazy. But making a list lets you know exactly what you need to accomplish.
2. Prioritize your Top 3 || So you’ve made a list. Now you need to prioritize. What are the most important items on that list that MUST be accomplished today? Those are your top 3. Maybe you only have 1 or 2, that’s ok. Just know where you need to start so you can go about the rest of your tasks with a clear mind.
3. Set a Time Limit || Once you know where you’re starting (your top 3), set a realistic time goal for these. Maybe one item will take you an hour, maybe it will take you a few days. Just make sure to have a time limit so you know how you are progressing.
4. Reward Yourself || My favorite part. So you’ve accomplished all of your goals for the day/week/month, and it’s time to give yourself a little happy. This could be a sweet treat, a nap, a new outfit (that’s me), or really anything that makes you happy! If you have something to look forward to, it makes accomplishing your tasks that much easier.
I’d love to hear how you keep yourself motivated! What are your favorite tips and tricks?
