Welcome to Tidy Tuesday – #TidyTuesday anyone? I know I am fashion blogger, but I am also what I like to call an “organizational specialist.” AKA I’m super organized. So instead of keeping it all to myself, I am going to be bringing you Tidy Tuesday. My posts will include simple and quick tips for anyone (no matter how messy or unorganized) can follow to make life just a little easier.
Today, I’m talking about 3 simple things you can do every single day to make your home just a little more clean and organized.
1. A quick survey.
Before I go to bed every night, the dishes are put away, the pillows are on the couch, and the kitchen table (aka our after-work dumping ground) is cleared off.
2. Just do it.
Did you just take off your shoes after you walked in the door? Are they still sitting next to the door/couch/bed? Don’t do that. Put them on the shelf immediately. Did you just try on two outfits (ok, let’s be real…like nine outfits) and instead of hanging up the pieces, you’ve thrown them on the ground? Don’t do that! You know you will have to put this stuff up anyways, so just do it now.
3. Use what you have. If you don’t have it, make it happen.
Many people have a system for where they store their things. Maybe it’s an elaborate system of shelves based on color, shape, etc. Or maybe it’s simple. Whatever you have, make it work. Put your flat shoes on the correct shelf. Put your sweaters where they belong. Because when you need them, they will be right where you expect them to be. Don’t have a system in place? Create one, even if it’s only in your head.
