Working out takes dedication and a lot of will power. Trying a new work out can be even more challenging and I feel a mixture of emotions: intimidation over not being as good as other people in the class, anxiety about what to wear/bring/do, and just plain nervous that I won’t be able to hang! I think these fears are common – and that is ok!
When I went to take my first class at FlyWheel here in Charlotte, I was nervous. Not only had I never done a spin class in my life, but cardio really isn’t my forte. I walked into the class with my spinning shoes on (provided by FlyWheel!), and didn’t know what to do. Fortunately there were “helpers” walking around to show me how to snap into the pedals and adjust my torque (I felt like a car). My teacher really pumped up the class and had a KILLER playlist! I will definitely be going back once my bum feels better. Did I mention that part – your butt hurts. It just does.
Now to the important part: After-work out care. When I leave a work out, I am just happy that I’m alive – let’s be real. You’ve got to take care of yourself after a work out so you can recover and repair. At FlyWheel, they had nice and clean bathrooms that provided every product you could wish for: Q-tips, tampons, towels, and my favorite, Vaseline Spray Lotion.
You know when you want/need lotion, but you just DON’T want to rub it in. Well, Vaseline Spray Lotion takes care of that. After a quick rinse, I sprayed on the lotion and immediately felt soothed and moisturized after an intense work out. First, the smell is heavenly – refreshing and light. Not only does the lotion spray on evenly, but the best part was that I could put my clothes back on immediately since it wasn’t sticky or greasy. I loved this spray so much I immediately went out and bought my own and I haven’t stopped using it!
What is your favorite workout routine? and most importantly, what is your after-workout routine? Let me know in the comments – I would love to try something new!
