I finally decided to tackle my desk area after working hard on my extra “closet” space. The area had become a dumping ground for all of my wedding paraphernalia, such as binders, extra save-the-date cards, card holders, etc. My goal is to have my workspace neat and polished so that I can work efficiently and creatively!
I’m sorry to show you this embarrassing before picture, but here it is:
First, I moved all of my wedding planning gear into the closet where my scarf collection used to reside (see post here). As you can see, there actually was a desk under all that junk! I also added a cork board so that I could pin my ideas and inspirations.
I finally framed my college and grad school diplomas in these chic mirrored frames (from Michaels, but similar here). I also added these unique paintings we bought from our honeymoon in Saint Lucia. I love the pops of color contrasted with the monochromatic look.
I de-cluttered my desk by utilizing tools such as this Lazy Susan and Caddy from Pottery Barn. I have had them since I was in high school and they are still perfect. I am thinking of painting them white to lighten up my desk, but that is another project. I also added a desk calendar from Tory Burch, this lamp from Target, and this sleek and clean desk chair with an Ikea pillow.
Here is the final product!
I know my workspace will always be evolving, but having a fresh, clean start will allow me to do my best work.
