Fall Must-Have: Chokers

must have chokers for fall // www.polishedclosets.com

Chokers are the hottest accessory for fall - and you really can't have too many! There are SO many styles, from bold to minimal to lasso style. Personally, I have one of each (of course), but I wear them all the time. One of my personal favorites is the Baublebar thick metal choker - it's very Kim K. in the best way possible. I also really love the lasso style, especially this pink one. It is such a fun and different take on the classic black. Basically I've got to have them all, and I feel ok with that.

August may be winding down, but the temps keep rising! Beating the humid heat at the end of summer can be hard, especially when you're dreaming of fall (I know I am!). I have found the best thing to do is to just give in and embrace the heat - and dress for it! Wearing breezy and light dresses keeps me cool, and this dress is perfect. The light fabric is breathable, and the length is the perfect way to transition to fall. Even when cooler temps finally arrive, I think a leather jacket and some heeled booties would be perfect with this dress.

I know it seems early, but it really is time to start your fall wardrobe prep! Summer is slowly winding down (even though the temps here in NC haven't left the 90s in about a month), and fall is right around the corner. I love to bolster my fall wardrobe with staples like this striped tee, which is only $20, because it is the perfect piece for layering. This military-inspired jacket is also a go-to for fall, and can we please talk about these over-the-knee boots!! They have the designer look for under $200! Now I just need to make room in my closet...

5 Ways to Organize your Hats for Fall

Hats are some of my favorite accessories, especially on a bad hair day! I can't resist a good wide-bring felt or wool hat, especially during the fall and winter. The only tricky part of having an abundance of hats is finding a good storage solution - one that lets you see the hats and access them easily. That is why I love this option of hanging your hats on the wall as a piece of art. I used to keep my hats stacked on top of each other and I could never find the one I wanted or I would forget about whichever ones were stuck on the bottom of the pile. T

I love that this option is pretty and easy to access! The hats look like a piece of art on the wall, and you can see everything you have. They are easy to grab and go and to hang back up again.

Now this is what I call a multi-purpose hanger. The best part of this storage solution is that you can use it for hats, jewelry - anything at all! And you can switch it up as much as you want.

Shabby chic at it's finest. The clothes hanger pins are perfect for a hat of any size, and you can easily switch up the arrangement to match your decor.

This is what I did with my hats! All you have to do is stick a push pin in the wall and hang your hat! If you want a more permanent solution, use a nail or a screw so you can adjust how far it pokes out of the wall. I prefer the push pin method just because it will let me rearrange as I gather more hats, because that will happen!

Off-the-shoulder tops have been a huge trend since spring rolled around, and now that we all have about five options (ok...maybe 10?), it's time to extend their use and take them into fall! This Chicwish OTS top is perfect for wearing now and later. Wear it now with cute cut off shorts, and to take it into fall, wear it with some high waisted flared jeans. These jeans are the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn (like pajama jeans, except stylish) and I can wear them all year round. I would also drape a leather jacket over my shoulders for a chilly fall evening. You can absolutely extend your OTS tops stylishly into fall!
